चरणदीप सिंह जो कि पंजाब में रहने वाले 57 वर्षीय किसान है। जो 2015 से अपनी 7 एकड़ जमीन पर प्राकृतिक खेती कर रहे हैं। वह सिर्फ अपने परिवार को बल्कि 17 परिवारों को जैविक खाना पहुंचा रहे हैं।चरणदीप सिंह के खेत में कई अन्य प्रकार के पक्षियों की संख्या भी दिखती रहती है। क्योंकि पंछियों को भी उनके खेतों में भरपूर मात्रा में दाना पानी मिलता है। जो कि उनके खेत के लिए और तो और पर्यावरण के लिए भी अनुकूल है।

जब चरणदीप सिंह 2008 में अमेरिका से लौटे थे तब किसी ने भी उनके परिवार में नहीं सोचा था कि वह किसानी करेंगे। चरणदीप सिंह के पिता सेना में थे और वह पढ़ाई के बाद अमेरिका चले गए थे। अमेरिका में चरणदीप सिंह कंसल्टेंट के तौर पर काम करते थे। लेकिन कुछ वक्त बाद चरणदीप सिंह ने अपने देश और अपने परिवार के पास लौटने का तय किया और वह अपने देश लौटने के लगभग 5 साल बाद उन्होंने तय किया कि वह प्राकृतिक खेती करना चाहते हैं।

 

चरणदीप सिंह का कहना है कि अपना खाना स्वस्थ तरीके से उगाने की प्रेरणा उन्हें उनकी पत्नी से मिला। उनकी बीवी ने उनसे 1 दिन कहा कि हम जहर खा रहे हैं, और जब चरणदीप सिंह ने अपने आसपास की स्थिति पर गौर किया तो उन्हें अपनी बीवी की बात सही लगी और उसके बाद ही चरणदीप सिंह ने खुद से खेती करने का फैसला कर लिया। पहले चरणदीप सिंह ने अपनी 7 एकड़ की जमीन को भाड़े पर दिया करते थे। लेकिन 2013 से इसे किराए पर देना बंद कर दिया, साल 2013 से 2015 तक उन्होंने अपने खेत को बिल्कुल खाली रखा और फिर इसमें खेती शुरू की।

साल 2015 से उन्होंने खेती की शुरुआत की और तय किया कि वह कुदरती ढंग से अपने खेतों में फूड फारेस्ट विकसित करेंगे। संदीप सिंह अपने खेतों में किसी भी केमिकल से खाद पानी नहीं दिया।अरुण के खेतों में संतुलन बना रहे इसीलिए उन्होंने अपने खेतों में चावल दाल जैसी फसलों के साथ-साथ अपने खेतों में फलों के पेड़ भी लगाए साथ ही वह मौसमी सब्जी भी उगाते हैं।

 

चरणदीप सिंह के खेतों में देशी बीजों का प्रयोग किया गया। वह अपने खेतों में मुख्य रूप से गेहूं और चावल उगाते हैं।करीब 4 किस्म के चावल उगाए जाते हैं। जिनमें से बासमती के अलावा लाल और काले चावल भी शामिल है। इसके अलावा वह मूंग अरहर मसूर और मौत जैसी पांच किस्म की दाल भी उगाते हैं। कई मौसमी सब्जी भी लगाई है जिसमें से कद्दू, पीटा, टमाटर, लहसुन, प्याज ,धनिया, हरी मिर्च आदि शामिल है। साथ ही उसमें सरसों, मूंगफली और हल्दी भी उगाया जाता है। चरणदीप सिंह ने अपने खेतों में सौंफ, अजवाइन, जीरा और कलौंजी भी लगाई हुई है।

अपने फार्म से जुड़े हुए करीब 17 परिवारों की जरूरतों को पूरा करते हैं और उसके अलावा उन 17 परिवारों को आटा, चावल, फल तथा सब्जियां भी पहुंचाते हैं। चरणदीप सिंह के खेतों में जो उपज बजती है उसे वह चंडीगढ़ के साप्ताहिक जैविक बाजार में जाकर बेचते हैं।

संदीप सिंह अपनी कमाई के बारे में बताते हुए कहते हैं कि सालाना खर्च जितना है उससे ज्यादा उनकी आमदनी हो जाती है और कभी मुनाफा होता है तो कभी कम लेकिन उनके परिवार के लिए पर्याप्त रहता है। हिंदी सिंह ने अपने खेतों में काफी प्रयोग भी किए हुए हैं जैसे इस बार उन्होंने तीन पहाड़ी दाल भी लगाया था।
