आज हम आपको एक ऐसे शख्स की कहानी बताएंगे, जो दिवंगत होते हुए भी आईएएस ऑफिसर है और इसके उपरांत उन्होंने पैरालंपिक में मेडल हासिल कर इतिहास रचा है। वे देश के पहले आईएएस ऑफिसर हैं, जिन्हें पैरालम्पिक में मेडल प्राप्त होगा।
आईएएस ऑफिसर सुहास (IAS Officer Suhas)
सुहास एलवाई (Suhas L.Y) यूपी (U. P) के डीएम (DM) हैं। इसके साथ ही वह पहले ऐसे आईएएस अधिकारी (IAS) बने हैं, जो पैरालम्पिक में देश का प्रतिनिधित्व कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने खेल में बेहतर प्रदर्शन दिखाकर अपना नाम गोल्ड मेडलिस्ट में दर्ज करा लिया है।
रखते हैं छोटे से गांव से सम्बंध
सुहास (Suhas) का संबंध कर्नाटक (Karnataka) के एक छोटे से गांव से है। जब उनका जन्म हुआ तो वे पैर से दिव्यांग थे। हालांकि उन्होंने अपनी दिव्यांगता को कभी भी अपनी कमजोरी नहीं बनने दी और सफलता की मिसाल कायम करते रहे।
मिला परिवार का सपोर्ट
बचपन से ही सुहास को खेल में अत्यधिक रुचि थी। वे पढ़ाई के साथ-साथ खेल में भी ध्यान दिया करते थे। हालांकि उन्हें अपनी विकलांगता के कारण लोगों से बहुत-सी बातें सुनने को मिलती थी परंतु उनका समर्थन उनके परिवार ने हमेशा ही किया है।
पिता के निधन से हुए हताश
सुहास के पिता कभी भी अपने बच्चे को असामान्य नहीं समझते थे। उन्होंने अपने बेटे को इस काबिल बनाया कि वे पढ़ लिखकर सफलता हासिल कर सके। जब वर्ष 2005 में उनकी मृत्यु हो गई तो सुहास बहुत हताश हुए परंतु उन्होंने हार नहीं मानी और अपनी पढ़ाई को जारी रखा। अब उन्होंने यूपीएससी (UPSC) की तैयारी प्रारंभ कर दी और इसमें सफलता हासिल करने के उपरांत उनकी पोस्टिंग आगरा में हुई।
शुरू किया इंटरनेशनल लेवल पर खेलना
उनका कार्यकाल बहुत स्थानों पर रहा, लेकिन उनके अंदर का खिलाड़ी हमेशा ही जिंदा रहा। वह अपनी ऑफिस की थकान को कम करने के लिए प्ले ग्राउंड में जाया करते थे और वहां बैडमिंटन खेलते थे।
ऐसे हुई प्रोफेशनल शुरुआत
जब उन्हें कुछ कंपटीशन में मेडल प्राप्त हुए तब उन्होंने प्रोफेशनल तरीके से खेलना प्रारंभ किया। वर्ष 2016 में उन्होंने अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर खेलना प्रारंभ किया परंतु वे उसमें परास्त हुए। इसके उपरांत उन्होंने कभी पीछे मुड़कर देखने की कोशिश नहीं की और अग्रसर होते रहे।
बनाया पैरालिम्पिक में स्थान
खेल में उनका प्रदर्शन बेहतर रहा और उन्होंने टोक्यो पैरालिम्पिक में सफलता हासिल की। उन्होंने पुरुषों के एलएस4 (LS4) वर्ग के एकल में इंडोनेशिया के सेतिवान रेडी को सीधे खेल में 21-19 और 21-15 से हराया और इसके साथ ही फाइनलिस्ट हुए। इसके साथ ही देश के प्रथम अफसर बने जिन्हें पैरालिम्पिक में मेडल प्राप्त होगा।
