लेमनग्रास (Lemon Grass) से होने वाले फायदे को देखते हुए केंद्र सरकार भी किसानों को लेमनग्रास (Lemon Grass) की खेती के लिए प्रोत्साहित कर रही है। इसकी खेती के लिए लोन की सुविधाएं भी उपलब्ध कराई गई है। वहीं आयुष मंत्रालय के किसान सशक्तिकरण योजना में भी लेमनग्रास (Lemon Grass) को शामिल कर लिया गया है। लेमनग्रास (Lemon Grass) की अच्छी पैदावार के लिए गर्म और आद्र वातावरण अनुकूल है। ज़्यादा ताप और धूप से इसमें तेल की मात्रा बढ़ती है। दोमट उपजाऊ मिट्टी में लेमनग्रास (Lemon Grass) की खेती काफी अच्छी होती है। इसके अलावा कम वर्षा वाले क्षेत्रों में भी इसकी खेती की जा रही है।

 

ऐसे करें लेमनग्रास की खेती

लेमनग्रास (Lemon Grass) की खेती आमतौर पर धान की तरह ही होती है। पहले इसके बीज को नर्सरी में बोया जाता है। उसके कुछ दिन बाद इसके पौधों को उखाड़ कर खेत में या अन्य जगह रोपाई करते है। एक हेक्टेयर में लेमनग्रास (Lemon Grass) की खेती करने के लिए 4 किलो बीज की जरूरत होती है। 2 महीने बाद इसके पौधे के ऊपरी भाग को जड़ से 15 सेंटीमीटर छोड़कर काट दिया जाता है। इसके जड़ों को अलग करके 30 से 45 सेंटीमीटर की दूरी पर फिर से पौधे लगाए जाते हैं। एक एकड़ में 12 हज़ार से 15 हज़ार पौधे लगाए जा सकते हैं। इसकी कीमत 2 रुपए से 50 रुपए तक होती है। इसकी रोपाई वर्षा ऋतु के प्रारंभ में की जाती है। एक बार इसे लगा दें, तो पांच वर्षों तक इससे फसल ली जा सकती है।

केवल 100 दिनों में लेमनग्रास का फसल हो जाता है तैयार

लेमनग्रास (Lemon Grass) की रोपाई से पहले खेत की अच्छे से जुताई करना बहुत जरूरी होता है। इसी दौरान दीमक से बचाव के लिए 5 प्रतिशत बीएचसी पाउडर 25 किलो ग्राम प्रति हेक्टेयर की दर से खेत में मिला दें। उसके बाद खेतों में पाटा चलाया जाता है। लेमनग्रास (Lemon Grass) को हर ढ़ाई से तीन महीने के बाद काटना पड़ता है। एक हेक्टेयर भूमि से 4 कटाइयों में 150 से 180 लीटर तेल हर वर्ष प्राप्त किया जा सकता है, जो हर वर्ष बढ़ता है। पहले बुआई के 100 दिनों बाद फसल कटाई के लिए तैयार हो जाती है।
