अक्सर यह बात सुनने को मिलती है कि खेती एक कच्चा व्यवसाय है, इसमे कभी भी नुक्सान हो सकता है। ऐसी अवधारणा बनीं हुई है कि खेती में फायदा नहीं है तथा इसके साथ ही साथ हमारे सामने किसानों की समस्याओं की खबरें आती हैं। इन सभी बातों के अलावा कुछ किसान ऐसा चमत्कार करते हैं कि यकीन करना मुश्किल होता है। ये किसान चमत्कार कमाई के मामले में करते हैं। आज हम बात करेंगे एक ऐसे हीं किसान की, जिसने अपने मेहनत से खेती करते हुए अपनी एक अलग पहचान बनाई है।

कौन है वह किसान?

हम गुरबीर सिंह (Gurbir Singh) की बात कर रहे हैं, जो मूल रूप से पंजाब (Punjab) के अमृतसर के भोरशी राजपूता गांव के रहने वाले हैं। उनकी संघर्ष की कहानी बहुत हीं प्रेरणादायी है। उनके पढाई के समय हीं उनके पिता की मृत्यू हो गई थी। इसके बाद घर के भाई-बहनों में सबसे बड़े होने मे नाते उन्हें परिवार की जिम्मेदारियां उठानी पड़ी।

पढाई छोड़ कर बना किसान

गुरबीर पहले कृषि में अपना करियर नहीं बनाना चाहते थे। वे कला में स्नातक की पढ़ाई कर रहे थे, पिता के मृत्यू के बाद जब उनका परिवार कर्ज में डूबा हुआ था तो उन्होंने कर्ज से निपटने के लिए खेती करने का मन बनाया।

बता दें कि, साल 2000 में पिता की सड़क दुर्घटना में मृत्योपरांत उन्हें खुद और अपने परिवार को संभालने के लिए पढ़ाई-लिखाई छोड़ कर पूरी तरह से खेती पर आश्रित होना पड़ा।

शुरु की मिर्ची की खेती

पढाई छोड़ने के बाद गुरबीर सिंह ने खेती का मन बनाया और अपने परिवार की 2.5 एकड़ भूमि पर पारंपरिक सब्जी की खेती को जारी रखा। इसी दौरान उन्हें पंजाब कृषि विश्वविद्यालय में जाने का मौका मिला, जो अपनी नवीन कृषि विधियों के लिए जाना जाता है।

वहां उनकी मुलाकात डॉ नरिंदरपाल सिंह (Dr Narinderpal Singh) से हुई, जो विश्वविद्यालय में कृषि सलाहकार सेवा योजना का नेतृत्व कर रहे थे। उन्हीं से गुरबीर सिंह को हाइब्रिड मिर्च (Chilly Farming) के बीजों के बारे में जानकारी मिली।

गुरबीर सिंह का कहना है कि, “हाइब्रिड मिर्च (Chilly Farming) के बीजों की विशेषताओं ने मुझे बहुत प्रभावित किया। इन मिर्चो में कीटों, फंगस और अन्य बीमारियों के संक्रमण का खतरा अन्य पौधों की तुलना में कम होता है और उपज भी अच्छी होती है। साथ हीं , स्वाद भी लाजवाब होते हैं, जिससे मार्केट में अच्छी कमाई होती है।”

इसके बाद से गुरबीर ने साइटोप्लाज़्मिक मेल फर्टिलिटी विधि को अपनाकर हाईब्रीड मिर्ची की खेती शुरु की और आज के समय में उन्होंनें अपने मेहनत के बदौलत सफलता हासिल करते हुए लाखों की कमाई की है तथा साथ हीं साथ उन्होंने संकर मिर्ची के पौधों सहित अन्य पौधों फूलगोभी, गोभी, टमाटर और अन्य सब्जियों को उगाने की अपनी पारंपरिक खेती के तरीकों के साथ-साथ, किसानों को बीज और पौधे बेचने के लिए गोबिनपुरा नर्सरी की भी स्थापना की है। इससे उनकी आमदनी अब लाखो में हो गई है।

खेती भी है फायदे का सौदा

करीब 2.5 एकड़ में मिर्ची की खेती करने वाले गुरबीर सिंह का कहना है कि अगर सही तरीके से खेती की जाए तो यह कभी भी घाटे का सौदा नहीं है। वे कहते हैं कि चुनौतियां सभी प्रोफेशंस का हिस्सा होती हैं। सभी बिजनेस में घाटा-फायदा होता है, मगर इसे वहन करना होता है।

उनके मुताबिक, चुनौतियों का सामना दबाव में नहीं हो सकता। इसके लिए कड़ी मेहनत, ईमानदारी और जुनून की जरूरत होती है। इन चीजों की मदद से कठिन दौर को पार कर सकते हैं।

उनके अनुसार कई युवा खेती छोड़ कर नौकरी के लिए शहरों में जा रहे हैं। मगर उनका मानना है कि कृषि भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था को सपोर्ट करती है और लोगों को खेती में अपना विश्वास नहीं खोना चाहिए।
