नमिता शर्मा (IAS Namita Sharma) ने जब इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स एंड कम्युनिकेशन में इंजीनियरिंग की डिग्री हासिल की तो इसके बाद उन्हें एक अच्छी कंपनी में नौकरी मिल गई। लगभग 2 साल तक नौकरी करने के बाद उनके मन में लोक सेवा आयोग के जरिये समाज के लिए कुछ अच्छा करने का ख्याल आया। इसके बाद उन्होंने यूपीएससी की तैयारी के लिए नौकरी छोड़ दिया तथा यूपीएससी की तैयारी करनी शुरू कर दी।

कभी अच्छी-खासी इंजीनियर की नौकरी करने वाली नमिता शर्मा को यूपीएससी की तैयारी के दौरान बार-बार असफलता हीं हाथ लगी। वे यूपीएससी की तैयारी के दौरान लगातार चार बार प्री-परीक्षा में असफल रहीं। इसके बावजूद भी उन्होंने हिम्मत नहीं हारा और लगातार अपनी मेहनत को जारी रखा। निरंतर मेहनत और संघर्ष के बदौलत उन्होंने पांचवें प्रयास में प्री तथा मेन्स में सफलता तो प्राप्त किया लेकिन इंटरव्यू तक पहुचने के बाद इसमें भी सफलता ही हाथ लगी।

नमिता शर्मा के परिवार में उनके और उनके माता-पिता के अलावे एक भाई भी है जो कि उनके लिए हमेशा हीं सकारात्मक प्रेरणा देता था।

बता दें कि, यूपीएससी की तैयारी के दौरान बार-बार के असफलताओं के बीच उनके माता-पापा के साथ हीं साथ भाई ने भी हमेशा नमिता का हौंसला बढ़ाया है। परिवार के सभी सदस्य बार-बार सेलेक्शन न होने के बावजूद भी अगला प्रयास करने के लिये उन्हें मोटिवेट किया करते थे।
