जानकारी के अनुसार ताजमहल के निर्माण में मजदूरों ने 22 वर्षों तक मेहनत किया था। हालांकि इसका वर्ष 1643 में सम्पन्न हो चुका था परन्तु इसके अन्य कार्यों में लगभग 10 साल और लगा। इसके कॉन्प्लेक्स के कार्य में लगभग 32 मिलियन रुपए खर्च हुए। आज के डेट में लगभग 52.8 बिलियन रुपए होंगे। वही इसे बनाने में लगभग 20000 मजदूर लगे थे। इसकी गणना दुनिया के अजूबों में होती है।

आखिर कब हुआ सीमेंट का आविष्कार?

साल 1824 में जोसेफ एस्पिन ने पोर्टलैंड सीमेंट के लिए पेटेंट लिया था। उन्होंने एक सामग्री को जमी हुई मिट्टी और चूना पत्थर से जलाया जब तक कि चूना पत्थर शांत नहीं हुआ। उन्होंने इसे पोर्टलैंड सीमेंट का नाम दिया। इसके द्वारा निर्मित कंक्रीट इंग्लैंड में व्यापक तौर पर उपयोग किए जाने वाले पत्थर पोर्टलैंड के जैसा ही प्रतीत होता था। इस कारण यह बताया जाता है कि ताजमहल के बनाने से पहले ही सीमेंट का आविष्कार हो चुका था।
