जब साल 2011 में विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन की रिपोर्ट आई थी तब पंजाब का लुधियाना शहर दुनिया के सबसे प्रदूषित शहरो की पंक्ति में चौथे नंबर पे था। परंतु इस साल जब फिर से सर्वेक्षण किया गया तो लुधियाना 95 वा नंबर पर है।
आखिर ऐसा चम्तकार हुआ कैसे ये सोचने वाली बात है तो हम आपको इसका कारण बताते है।लुधियाना की स्थिती सुधारने के लिए बहुत से अभियान चलाए गए। लुधियाना में पॉल्युशन चेक सिस्टम लगाने से लेकर हतियाली बढ़ाने तक के सारे प्रयास काम आयी है। और इस चमत्कार को सच्चयी में बदलने में IRS रोहित मेहरा का बहुत बड़ा योगदान है,जो लुधियाना में रहते है।
दो सालो में रोहित ने शहर में 25 छोटे जंगल उगाए है। 500 स्क्वायर फ़ीट से लेकर 4 एकड़ तक कि जमीन पर उगे इन जंगलो में ग्रीन कवर को बहुत बढ़ाया है। उसके साथ ही हवा की गुणवत्ता में भी सुधार हुआ है।
रोहित को “लुधियाना का ग्रीन मैन” का खिताब दिया गया है। रोहित ने अपने काम का शुभारंभ लुधियाना के रेलवे स्टेशन से किया और पूर्वक वर्टीकल गार्डन लगाने में कामयाब रहे। अभी तक रोहित ने लुधियाना में 75 वर्टीकल गार्डन लगाए हैं।
रोहित अभी 41 वर्ष के है रोहित का कहना है कि जब लोगो को वर्टीकल गार्डन के बारे में पता चला तब लोगो ने मुझसे अपनी खाली जगहों में गार्डन लगवाने के लिए संपर्क किया। लुधियाना लगभग 40 किलोमीटर दूर स्थित जगरांव से उन्हें एक इंदुस्ट्रिलिस्ट ने अपनी 600 स्क्वायर फेर जमीन में जंगल लगाने के लिए संपर्क किया।
जिस इंदुस्ट्रिलिस्ट ने रोहित को संपर्क किया था उनका एक राइस ब्रान आयल का फैक्ट्री था।इस वजह से वह जगह बहुत प्रदूषित थी। इस प्रदूषण को कम करने के लिए पेड़ लगाना चाहते थे।
हम सबको पता है कि लुधियाना इंडस्ट्रियल हब है। यही कारण है कि लुधियाना में प्रदूषण भारी मात्रा में है। प्रदूषण की वजह से कई बार तो कई दिनों तक लगातार स्कूलों की छुट्टी करनी पड़ जाती है। जब रोहित को जंगल लगाने के लिए बुलाया गया तब उन्हें ज्यादा कुछ पता नही था। परंतु रोहित ने काफी रिसर्च किया कि कैसे कम समय मे जंगल उगाया जा सकता है।
प्राचीन भारतीय ग्रंथो से मिली मदद:–
जब रोहित ने इसपर रिसर्च किया तब उन्हें जापान की मशहूर “मियावकी तकनीक” के बारे में पता चला । रोहित ने प्राचीन भारतीय लेख भी पढ़े विरक्षादुर्वेद जिसमे पेड़-पौधों और जंगलो को उगाने के तकनीक के बारे में लिखा गया है।
सबसे अछि बात ये है कि भारतीये प्राचीन ग्रंथों में भी मियावकी तकनीक के बारे में लिखा हुआ है। पहले जमीन को 2.5 फ़ीट तक खोदा जाता है। फिर जुसमे पतियो ,गोबर,और अन्य तरह की खाद से तैयार मिश्रण को मिलाया जाता है।कृषि में बचे भूसी और परोली भी मिलाया जाता है जमीन की उर्वरकता को बढ़ाने के लिए।
ततपश्चात तरह तरह कर वैरायटी के पेड़-पौधे को टेढ़े पैटर्न में लगाया जाता है। जिसमे नीम,आमला,हरड़, बेल,अर्जुन,मोरिंगा,गुलमोहर,बरगद और कनेर को लगाया जाता है।
कंफेडरेशन ऑफ इंडियन इंडस्ट्रीज(CII)ने रोहित के साथ टाई-अप किया और लुधियाना के सारे प्रदूषित इलाको में जंगल उगाए। इन 25 जंगलो में 7-8 जंगल प्रदुषित इलाके में है।
बहुत सारे इंदुस्ट्रिलिस्ट ने जंगल उगाने के लिए रोहित को संपर्क किया।एक इंदुस्ट्रिलिस्ट ने तो अपने फार्महाउस के डेढ़ एकड़ जमीन में जंगल उगाने के लिए संपर्क किया।क्योंकि उनकी माँ को फेफड़ों की बीमारी थी। और उन्हें स्वस्थ हवा की जरूरत थी।
जब गुरु नानक की 550वा जन्मदिन था तो रोहित ने गुरुद्वारा दुखनिवारण में एक छोटा सा जंगल उगाया और इसका नाम “नानक वन” रखा। रोहित को बहुत सारे संगठन, इंडस्ट्रीज और NGO के वॉलंटियर्स मदद करते है उनके काम मे । जिसमे सामूहिक जागरूकता की भावना फैलती हौ।
चुन्नवतियो के बाद भी पाई सफलता:-
सबके साथ के बावजूद शहर के इलाकों में जंगल उगाने के लिए जगह तलाश करना बहुत मुश्किल था ।सब को समझना भी मुश्किल था पर रोहित आने लक्ष्य पर डटे रहे।
रोहित स्कूल ,कॉलेज के बच्चों के साथ मिलकर सौड़ बॉल बनवाते है। खाद मिट्टी बीज और पोषक तत्वों को मिलाकर सौड़ बॉल बनायी जाती है।
रोहित पूरे देश के बच्चों और बूढो को हरियाली के प्रति जागरूक करने के लिए देश भर मर दौरे करते है।
रोहित का कहना है कि हम एज टाइम बॉम में रह रहे है। जो पानी हम पीते है खाना खाते है।और जो सास लेते है सब दूषित हैं। रोहित पर्यावरण का महत्व बताते है। सबको और जागरूक करते हौ उनका कहना है कि मैं पूरे देश मे 5000 जंगल उगाना चाहता हु।
