विरासत वाले कार्यों में बदलाव करने के बाद यदि आप अपने काम को और ऊपर तक ले के जाते हैं तो दुनिया आपको सलाम करती है और आप बाकियों के लिए उदाहरण भी बनते हैं।
आमतौर पर जब भी उत्तर प्रदेश में होने वाली खेती की बात की जाती है तो ‘गन्ने’ का नाम सबसे ऊपर आता है। आमदनी जो भी हो , वक़्त जो भी लगे , लोग इसे ही अपना आधार बना चुके हैं। इसी आधार में बदलाव लाने वाले एक व्यक्ति का नाम है :- राजपाल सिंह।


राजपाल उत्तर प्रदेश के सहारनपुर जिले के गुर्जर गांव के निवासी हैं। प्रकृति से अत्यधिक लगाव के कारण उन्होंने खेती के तरीकों पर बहुत गहराई से अध्ययन किया है और सालो से खेती करते आ रहे हैं। वो बताते हैं कि खेती का उनसे बहुत पुराना रिश्ता है और सालो से खेती ही उनकी खानदानी पेशा बनी हुई है। 15 से 20 सालो तक उन्होंने गन्ने की खेती की और बहुत शोध के बाद राजपाल बताते हैं कि उन्हें अब ये एकमात्र खेती व्यवस्था राजनीति लगती है। इसलिए इन सब को समझते हुए राजपाल ने इसमें बदलाव के बीज बोए।
अब वहा लीची, अमरूद, आम आदि जैसे फलो की खेती की जाती है। जिससे अब लाखो की आमदनी होने लगी और लोग इनसे प्रेरणा भी लेते हैं। राजपाल मेरठ के DAN कॉलेज से जीव विज्ञान से स्नातक कर चुके हैं, जिसके वजह से उन्हें खेती को करीब से जानने का मौका मिला और शोध करने का मौका मिला। यही नही आगे चलकर उन्होंने पपीता, केला आदि फलो की खेती करने की भी कोशिश की लेकिन इसमें उतना लाभ नही हुआ और इससे छोड़ना पड़ा।
राजपाल बताते हैं कि उन्होंने शहद का भी खूब उत्पादन किया है। वही मधुमक्खी के बक्से को पहुचाने में उनकी मुलाकात विकाश नगर के रामजी जैन से हुई । जिनके पास एक बड़ा लीची का बगीचा था। इन्ही से प्रेरित हो कर राजपाल ने भी लीची की खेती का मन बनाया।
सन 1999 में राजपाल ने आडू खेती व्यवस्था को प्रोत्साहित किया। जिसके तहत दो प्रकार के खेती शुरू हुई:- (1) लघुकालिक, (2),दीर्घकालिक


जैसा कि हम सब जानते हैं कि लीची के पेड़ों को बड़ा और तैयार होने में करीब 15 वर्ष लगते हैं। तो यदि किसान उसी पर आश्रित रहे तो बहुत बड़ा नुकसान हो सकता है। इसी के समाधान में राजपाल आड़ू के पेड़ लगा देते हैं जो काफी कम समय लेता है। जिससे काफी अच्छी खासी आमदनी भी हो जाती है। वही लीची के साथ अमरूद भी लगा दिया जाता है जिससे अच्छा लाभ हो जाता है। वहाँ अब 20 से 25 किस्मो के लीची का उत्पादन होता है जीनमे शाही लीची भी है। वही अमरूद की बात करे तो ललित, सफेद कई तरह के अमरूदों का उत्पादन भी होता है।
राजपाल स्थानीय बाजारों में तो फलो को भेजते ही हैं, साथ ही साथ उनके फल बैंगलोर तक भी जाते हैं जिससे आय में बहुत वृद्धि हो जाती है। जहाँ स्थानीय जगह पर लीची की कीमत 100 से 135 रुपये तथा अमरूद की कीमत लगभग 65 रुपये के करीब होती है वहीं, बंगलोर में इसकी कीमत 400 से 500 तक हो जाती है। इसी से इसके लाभ का आकलन किया जा सकता है। प्रत्येक वर्ष लीची से लगभग 8 लाख तथा अमरूद से लगभग 7 लाख की आमदनी की जाती है।
शुरुआती दिनों में राजपाल ने 5 हेक्टेयर से खेती शुरू की थी जो अब 8 हेक्टेयर में की जा रही है।
इन फलों के बगीचे की शुरुआत ऐसे ही नही हो गई। पहले राजपाल ने बाज़ारो का दौरा किया, देखा कि किस चीज़ की मांग ज्यादा है। इन सब मे उन्होंने दो लोगो को पाया, एक जो जीवनयापन के लिए कहते है और आर्थिक रूप दे विकसित नही हैं , और दूसरे वो जो स्वाद के लिए खाते हैं। आजकल हम आए दिन किसानों के आत्महत्या की खबरों को सुनते हैं। यदि किसान थोड़ा समय दे के और बाजार को समझ के खेती कर तो उसकी परेशानी खत्म हो सकती है। दअरसल, किसानो को खेती की चिंता नही बल्कि आमदनी की चिंता गिरा देती है। लेकिन राजपाल ने बदलाव कर इस चिन्ता को ही खत्म कर दिया।


राजपाल जगह जगह किसानों को प्रशिक्षण देते हैं। यही नही हमारे देश की पहली महिला राष्ट्रपति श्रीमती प्रतिभा देवी सिंह पाटिल और कृषि मंत्री शरद पवार के साथ भी योगदान दे चुके हैं। लगभग 4000 किसान इनसे प्रेरणा ले कर आगे बढ़ चुके हैं और 4250 हेक्टेयर की भूमि पर खेती कर रहे हैं। बहुत सारे किसान ट्रेनिंग के बाद अपने विचारों को रखते हुए बताते हैं कि – जहाँ कभी परंपरागत रूप से खेती करने के बाद उन्हें 2500 रुपए की ही बचत होती थी वही आज 14000 तक कि बचत है।
राजपाल का मानना है कि अगर हमें आगे बढ़ना है और कुछ अलग करके अपने काम का विस्तार करना है तो हमे खुद ही शोध कर के चीज़ों को गहराई से समझना होगा और दुसरो को भी प्रेरित करना होगा।
