जैसा की सभी जानते हैं अभी वर्तमान में जापान के टोक्यो में 32 वां ओलम्पिक खेल चल रहा है, जिसमें अलग-अलग देशों से आए हर एथलीट की नजर कीमती मेडल पर है। इसी कड़ी में 7 अगस्त 2021 को यानी कल भारतीय जैवलिन थ्रोअर नीरज चोपड़ा ने टोक्यो ओलंपिक में गोल्ड मेडल (स्वर्ण पदक) जीत कर इतिहाद रच दिया।

मेडल के बारे में हम सभी सुने हैं लेकिन बहुत कम लोगों को ही पता है कि इसकी शुरुआत कब हुई, यह कितने प्रकार का होता है और इसकी कीमत कितनी है तथा इससे जुड़ी अन्य कई बातें। ऐसे में हम आपकों पदक से जुड़े रोचक जानकारी देने जा रहे हैं।

पदक (Medal) के प्रकार

मेडल तीन प्रकार के होते हैं। स्वर्ण पदक (Gold Medal), रजत पदक और कांस्य पदक। यह पदक अनुशासन, अनगिनत त्याग और साहस की निशानी है।

 

अमेरिका के सेंट लुइस में आयोजित 1986 ओलंपिक खेलों में के दौरान ओलंपिक चैंपियन को स्वर्ण पदक दिया गया था। पहले सोने को बहुत मांगा माना जाता था इसलिए विजेता को रजत पदक और उपविजेता को कांस्य पदक से सम्मानित किया जाता था, वहीं तीसरे स्थान के लिए कोई पदक की व्यव्स्था नहीं थी।

वर्ष 1912 तक ओलंपिक मेडल्स में स्वर्ण पदक को शुद्ध सोने का बनाया जाता था। लेकिन पहले विश्व युद्ध के बाद देशों ने स्वर्ण पदक को चांदी से बनाना शुरू कर दिया और उस पर सोने की एक परत चढ़ाने लगे।

हालांकि इस वर्ष टोक्यो ओलंपिक में जीतने वाले को दिया जाने वाला मेडक कई धातुओं से बने हैं।

गोल्ड मेडल (Gold Medal)

 

बीबीसी की एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, इस वर्ष ओलंपिक में दिए जाने वाले गोल्ड मेडल की कीमत लगभग ₹55000 है। इस मेडल का वजन 556 ग्राम होता है और इस पर शुद्ध चांदी पर 9 ग्राम से अधिक सोने की परत चढ़ाया जाता है।

रजत पदक (Silver Medal)

इस वर्ष ओलंपिक में रजत पदक की कीमत ₹31000 है तथा इसे उपविजेता को दिया जाता है। इसका भार 550 ग्राम होता है और यह शुद्ध चान्दी का बना होता है।

कांस्य पदक जिसका वजन 450 ग्राम होता है, 95% तांबा और 5% जिंक के मिश्रण से बना होता है। यह दूसरे उपविजेता को दिया जाता है और इसकी कीमत 515 रुपए होती है।
