आज हम जीवन की सभी चुनौतियों का सामना करने वाली, कभी ना हार मानने वाली लेहरो देवी (Lehro Devi) की बात करेंगे। लेहरो देवी राजस्थान (Rajasthan) के बाड़मेर की रहने वाली हैं। वह एक रूढ़िवादी परिवार से तालुक रखती हैं। लेहरो देवी (Lehro Devi) की तीन बेटियां हैं फिर भी उनसे एक पुरुष वारिस पैदा करने की उम्मीद की गई थी, परंतु वह ऐसा नहीं कर पाई, तो उनके पति ने दूसरी शादी कर ली क्योंकि उनके समुदाय में बहुविवाह आम बात है। दूसरी पत्नी से बहुत ही जल्द दो बेटे हो गए।

लेहरो देवी ने की एक नई शुरूआत

53 वर्षीय लेहरो देवी के लिए नया जीवन आसान नहीं था परंतु उन्होंने पीछे नहीं हटने का फैसला किया। लेहरो देवी (Lehro Devi) अपने पति, उनकी दूसरी पत्नी और सभी पांच बच्चों के साथ रहती हैं। उनका कहना है कि “मैं त्याग का जीवन जीती हूं, परंतु मैंने उसी के साथ अपनी शांति बनाई है। ऐसे में छोटी-छोटी जरूरतों को पूरा करना लेहरो देवी (Lehro Devi) के लिए एक चुनौती बन गई थी। जब उन्हें ग्रामीण विकास एवं चेतना संस्थान (GVCS) का पता चला, जो एक जमीनी स्तर पर गैर सरकारी संगठन है। वह बाड़मेर में काम कर रहा है और क्षेत्र में प्रशिक्षण आयोजित कर रहा था।

शुरुआत में हुई लेहरो देवी को दिक्कत

लेहरो देवी (Lehro Devi) बताती हैं कि GVCS हमें पारंपरिक हस्तशिल्प (हैंडीक्राफ्ट) सिखा रहे थे। मैंने साइन अप किया और मेरी बेटियां भी मेरे साथ प्रशिक्षण सत्र में शामिल हुईं। वह बताती हैं कि मुझे हमेशा से ही क्राफ्टवर्क में दिलचस्पी थी। शुरुआत में उन्हें कई दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ा जैसे कच्चे माल को इकट्ठा करने तथा तैयार माल को वितरित करने के लिए लंबी दूरी तय करनी पड़ती थी। इस दौरान GVCS से जो समर्थन मिला। उससे जल्द ही उनका काम आसान हो गया। साथ ही वह अन्य महिलाओं को लेहरो देवी (Lehro Devi) द्वारा दिए जाने वाले प्रशिक्षण के लिए प्रेरित करते थे।

लेहरो देवी कर रही अन्य महिलाओं की मदद

लेहरो देवी (Lehro Devi) अब अपने जैसी अन्य महिलाओं की मदद के लिए सामने आई हैं। GVCS महिलाओं को कारीगर से मास्टर ट्रेनर होने तक का ट्रेन्निंग देता है। GVCS की अध्यक्ष रूमा देवी (Ruma Devi) एक मास्टर शिल्पकार से प्रेरणा लेकर राजस्थान के थार क्षेत्र के 75 गांवों के 22,000 से अधिक कारीगरों को प्रशिक्षित की हैं। लेहरो देवी भी अब एनजीओ का एक अनिवार्य हिस्सा बन चुकी हैं। वह अन्य महिलाओं को प्रशिक्षित करने और शिल्प को बढ़ावा देने के लिए अपना जीवन समर्पित कर चुकी हैं।

लेहरो देवी का बढ़ा आत्मविश्वास

लेहरो देवी (Lehro Devi) बताती हैं कि वह अब तक कई विभिन्न प्रदर्शनियों और कार्यशालाओं में भाग ले चुकी हैं, जिस दौरान वह दिल्ली से गोवा तक पूरे देश की यात्रा कर चुकी हैं। इसके साथ ही वह फैशन शो में भी भाग लि हैं, जो GVCS में अन्य कारीगरों द्वारा किया गया था। लेहरो देवी (Lehro Devi) दास्ताकर, काला घोड़ा महोत्सव और आदी महोत्सव जैसी कई प्रदर्शनियों में भाग ले चुकी हैं। वह बताती हैं कि मैंने अपने जीवन के 10 साल अपने शिल्प के लिए और अपने परिवार के लिए प्रदान करने में सक्षम होने के लिए समर्पित कर चुकी हूं। इस दौरान लेहरो देवी (Lehro Devi) का आत्मविश्वास बढ़ा हैं, जिसके जरिए वह हज़ारों महिलाओं का मार्गदर्शन कर चुकी हैं।
