अक्सर ऐसा देखने को मिलता है कि लोग बेटी को जन्म से ही बोझ समझते हैं। बेटी के जन्म पर शायद ही कोई खुश होता है लेकिन वहीं अगर बेटे का जन्म हो तो काफी जश्न मनाया जाता है। हालांकि अब कई लोग इसे सोच को बदलते हुए बेटा और बेटी में कोई भेद-भाव न रखकर उन्हें बराबर का दर्जा दे रहे हैं। कई तो बेटियों को सर का ताज भी समझते हैं। इसका एक बड़ा उदाहरण सामने आया है कि, भोपाल के एक पानीपुरी वाले ने अपनी बेटी के जन्म पर लोगों को मुफ्त में पानीपुरी खिलाकर अपनी खुशी जाहिर की।

एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, मध्य प्रदेश (Madhya Pradesh) की राजधानी भोपाल (Bhopal) के कोलार क्षेत्र में रेहड़ी लगाकर पानीपुरी बचने वाले 30 वर्षीय अंचल गुप्ता (Anchal Gupta) ने अपने घर बेटी के जन्म लेने की खुशी में सभी को मुफ्त में पानीपुरी खिलाया। ऐसा करके उसने सभी को यह संदेश दिया कि बेटा और बेटी में फर्क न करके बेटी के जन्म पर भी जश्न मनाया जा सकता है।

अंचल गुप्ता (Anchal Gupta) कहते हैं कि, “बेटी का जन्म होना किसी सपने जैसा है। जब से मेरी शादी हुई है मुझे बेटी की उम्मीद थी लेकिन दो वर्ष पहले एक बेटा हुआ।” News18 की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, अंचल ने बेटी के लिए कई जगह मन्नतें भी मांगी थी।

अंचल ने कहा कि, 17 अगस्त को वह एक बेटी के पिता बने। बेटी पैदा होने की खुशी को जाहिर करने के लिए उन्होंने बेटे के दूसरे जन्मदिन पर सभी को फ़्री में पानीपुरी खिलाई।

अंचल (Anchal Gupta) कक्षा 8वीं तक पढ़े हैं। वह लोगों को महत्वपूर्ण संदेश दे रहें हैं कि, “बेटी है तो कल है”। स्थानीय नेता भी अंचल गुप्ता को बेटी के जन्म की बधाई देने पहुंचे थे।

हमारे समाज में आज भी कई ऐसे लोग हैं जो बेटी को बोझ समझते हैं और उन्हें पैदा होने से पहले ही मार देते हैं। ऐसे में एक रेहड़ी लगानेवाले जिसकी आय अधिक नहीं होती है, उसके बाद भी बेटी के जन्म होने की खुशी में अंचल ने सभी लोगों को 35-40 हजार की पानीपुरी मुफ्त में खिलाया। अंचल गुप्ता से समाज को यह सीख लेनी चाहिए कि, बेटियां बोझ नहीं होती है।
