क्या कभी आपने किसान के सबसे महत्वपूर्ण जरूरतों को देखा है ? हर एक किसान के लिए उसकी उपजाऊ मिट्टी से बड़ा कोई वरदान नही होता । उसी मिट्टी से वो अपने सपनो को सींचता है। लेकिन आपको कुछ ऐसे भी जाबाज मिलेंगे जो बंजर मिट्टी पर खेती कर के लाखों रुपये काम रहे है।
मनदीप वर्मा – विप्रो कंपनी में पांच साल काम करने के बाद भी संतुष्टि न मिलने पर उन्होंने अपने शहर सोलन आना तय किया। ऐसा कहा भी गया है ,कि यदि एक किसान पढ़ ले तो दुनिया का सबसे ताकतवर व्यक्ति बन जाता है। तो मनदीप के मन मे बंजर जमीन पर खेती करने का सुझाव आया। बागवानी में अपना हाथ आजमाना शुरू किया। बात यही तक नही रही- ‘कीवी’ जो बहुत ही लोकप्रिय फल है , उसपर शोध करना शुरू किया।

लाइब्रेरी जा के गहन अध्ययन किया, बहुत सी किताबे पढ़ी और यही नही , यूनिवर्सिटी के डॉक्टरों से भी मिला।
2014 में तय हुआ कि बागवानी शुरु किया जाना चाहिए। पूरे 14 बीघा के भूमि पर इस बागवानी की शूरुआत हुई। कीवी के उन्नत किस्म – एलिसन और हैबर्ड के पौधे लगाए गए। पूरे 14 लाख ख़र्च हुए इसमे और आखिरकार 2017 में कीवी को लोगो तक पहुचाने के लिए वेबसाइट तैयार किया गया।
मनदीप, बाग से फल ग्राहक तक पहुचने को अपनी सबसे बड़ी उपलब्धि समझते हैं। इसकी उप्लब्धता सीमित नही बल्कि बड़े स्तर है। बंगलोर, पंजाब, हरीयाणा, चंडीगढ़ ,दिल्ली जैसे शहरों तक इसकी बुकिंग होती है। कीवी कब डब्बे में पैक हुआ , कबतक सुरक्षित है, इन सब की जानकारी डब्बे के ऊपर दी जाती है।
कीवी की कीमत लगभग 350 रुपए प्रति/बॉक्स है।जबकि सोलन में ये 150 रुपये में ही उपलब्ध है। अगर डेटा की बात करे तो लगभग कीवी का 60 % उत्पादन अरुणाचल प्रदेश में ही होता है। और यह का कीवी पूरे डेढ़ महीने तक सुरक्षित रहता है।


उनकी अदभुत शुरुआत के लिए उन्हें हिमाचल प्रदेश में ,2019 में , प्रगतिशील किसान पुरस्कार दिया गया। मनदीप ने सभी युवा वर्ग के सामने एक उदाहरण पेश किया कि खुशिया जरूरी नही की शहरो के चकाचोंध में ही मिले, कभी कभी धरती भी जरूरत से ज्यादा खुशी देती है। सामान्यतः हमे अच्छी भूमि चाहिए होता है ,अच्छी फसल के लिए लेकिन मनदीप के काम ने बंजर भूमि पर जीत हासिल की जो कि बहुत ही सराहनीय है। हज़ारो जगह कीवी की उत्तम किस्म मनदीप और उनकी कंपनी उपलब्ध कराती है। बात बस लोगो तक कीवी को पहचाना ही नही प्रसंसनीय नही है बल्कि जरा सोचिए कि उनकी एक शूरुआत ने कई बेरोजगारों को रोजगार दिया । एक अच्छे माहौल का निर्माण हुआ ।
