कुछ बच्चों की किस्मत ऐसी भी होते हैं, जिसे उसके हीं परिवार के लोग अपनाने से इंकार कर देते हैं क्योंकि यह बच्चे दिखने में थोड़ा अजीब होते हैं। ऐसे बच्चों को जन्म के बाद से ही परिवारवालों और बाहर के लोगों से ताने सुनने पड़ते हैं। आज हम आपको ऐसी महिला के बारे में बताएंगे, जिसके शरीर में दो की जगह चार टांगें थीं और वह अपने असामान्य पैरों के साथ क़रीब 60 साल तक ज़िंदा भी रही।
मिर्टल को देख रह गया हर कोई हैरान
मेडिकल साइंस के अनुसार ऐसा वाक्या बेहद हीं कम देखने को मिलता है। दरसल इस महिला का नाम मिर्टल कॉर्बिन (Myrtle Corbin) था। मायरटल का जन्म 12 मई 1868 में अमेरिका के टेनेसी में हुआ था। जब वह पैदा हुई तो उसे देख हर कोई हैरान रह गया था क्योंकि उसके शहीर में दो की जगह चार टांगें थी, जिसमे से से दो टांगें तो सामान्य थीं, परंतु दो अन्य टांगें सामान्य टांगों के ठीक बीचों-बीच थीं। यह दोनो पैर उनके दूसरे पैरों के मुकाबले छोटे और नाजुक थे।
मिर्टल की बीच की दो टांगें उनकी डायपिजस जुड़वा बहन की थी
आपको बता दें कि पैदा होने के कुछ साल तक मिर्टल इन पैरों पर पूर्ण रूप से खड़ी नहीं हो पा रही थी। डॉक्टरों के अनुसार मिर्टल की बीच की दो टांगें उसकी खुद की नहीं, बल्कि उनकी डायपिजस जुड़वा बहन की थीं, जो इस दुनिया में नहीं आ सकी। हालांकि मां के पेट में उसकी टांगें विकसित हो गईं, लेकिन शरीर विकसित नहीं हो पाया। इसी वजह से मिर्टल का जन्म चार टांगों के साथ हुआ और उन्हें जिंदगीभर उन पैरों के साथ ही जीना पड़ा था। – Myrtle Corbin is known worldwide as the ‘Four Legged Woman’.

मिर्टल अपनी अजन्मी बहन के अंग पर किसी प्रकार काबू तो कर रही थी, परंतु चलते समय उनका उपयोग करना उनके लिए किसी चुनौती से कम नहीं था। मिर्टल कॉर्बिन के सामान्य पैरों की अंगुलियां बराबर थीं, परंतु जो उनके दो एक्स्ट्रा पैर थे उसमे केवल 3-3 उंगलियां हीं थी। मिर्टल की इस विचित्र अंग ने उन्हें पूरी दुनिया भर में मशहूर कर दिया।
19 साल की उम्र में की जेम्स क्लिंटन बिकनेल से शादी
मिर्टल कॉर्बिन की विल्ले एन नाम की एक बहन थी,जिसकी शादी विल्ले की ‘लॉक बिकनैल’ नाम के लड़के से हुई थी। लॉक बिकनैल के भाई का नाम डॉक्टर जेम्स क्लिंटन बिकनैल था। जेम्स क्लिंटन बिकनैल ने जब पहली बार मायरटल को देखा तो वह उससे प्यार कर बैठा और मिर्टल से शादी का प्रस्ताव रखे। मिर्टल ने प्रस्ताव स्विकार कर 19 साल की उम्र में जेम्स क्लिंटन बिकनेल से शादी कर ली।
मिर्टल ने दिया 8 बच्चों को जन्म
मिर्टल और जेम्स की शादी एक सच्चे प्यार को बयां करती है। हालांकि उनकी शादीशुदा ज़िंदगी की जो सबसे रहस्य्मयी चीज़ थी वह यह कि जेम्स न केवल मिर्टल से बल्कि उसकी अजन्मी बहन के साथ भी यौन संबंध बना सकता था यानी मिर्टल के शरीर में दो योनि मौजूद थीं। मिर्टल ने 8 बच्चों को जन्म दिया था, जिनमें से 3 बच्चों का बचपन में ही निधन हो गया था। मिर्टल कॉर्बिन आज भी दुनियाभर में ‘चार पैरों वाली महिला’ के तौर पर मशहूर है। 6 मई 1928 को अमेरिका के टेक्सस में 60 साल की उम्र में मायरटल कॉर्बिन का निधन हो गया था। – Myrtle Corbin is known worldwide as the ‘Four Legged Woman’.
