जब-जब जरूरत हुई, महिलाओ ने हर ओर प्रत्येक फील्ड में अपने हुनर से लोहा मनवाया है। बात जहाज उड़ाने की हो या डॉक्टर बन किसी के जीवन को बचाने की या फिर वर्दी पहन देश की रक्षा करने की , सभी जगह आप इन्हें मजबूती से पाएंगे। और जब सारे पेशे के बारे में बात हो रही है तो हम किसानी को कैसे भूल सकते हैं। आज हम एक ऐसी महिला के बारे में जानेंगे, जो आलू प्याज को छोड़कर सभी सब्ज़िया अपने घर मे ही उगाती हैं। उनका नाम है – प्रतिमा अदिगा।


प्रतिमा बंगलुरु की रहने वाली हैं और करीब 4 वर्षो से अपने छत पर ही गार्डेनडिंग करते आ रही हैं। उनका गार्डन तीसरे और चौथे मंज़िले पर है और वही टेरेस पर वो अपनी जरूरतों की सारी सब्ज़िया उगाती हैं। हम सब ये जानते हैं कि शहरों में केमिकलमुक्त सब्जियो का मिलना कितना मुश्किल है , इसी बात को ध्यान में रखते हुए उन्होंने गार्डेनडिंग की ओर कदम बढ़ाया। प्रतिमा मात्र आलू और प्याज़ ही बाहर से मंगाती हैं ।
प्रतिमा, 19 सालो तक कन्नड़ चैनल के कूकिंग शोज में शेफ का काम कर चुकी हैं। साथ ही कई फ्रीलांसिंग प्रोजेक्ट्स में और करीब 2600 एपिसोड्स का हिस्सा रह चुकी हैं। इनका कैरियर 18 साल लंबा रहा है लेकिन बाद में परिवार और बच्चो के लिए उन्होंने अपने पेशे से अवकाश लिया। परिवार के साथ ज्यादा वक्त बिताने के दौरान उन्हें लगा कि जो खाना सब खा रहे हैं वो स्वास्थ्य के लिए सही नही है। केमिकल वाली चीज़ों से कई तरह की बीमारियों पैदा होती हैं।तभी सबके स्वास्थ्य पर फोकस करते हुए उन्हीने गार्डेनडिंग करने का फैसला किया।


प्रतिमा के पति एक सिविल इंजीनियर हैं और प्रकृति से लगाओ भी रखते हैं, तो जब 15 साल पहले उनका घर बन रहा था तो उन्होंने गार्डेनडिंग के लिए अच्छा स्पेस रखने का प्लान बनाया। और उसी जगह का आज प्रतिमा सदुपयोग कर रही हैं। अगर बात करे कि किसने उन्हें गार्डेनडिंग के लिए प्रोतसाहित किया , तो वो थे प्रतिमा के पिता जी । पहले प्रतिमा के ज़िन्दगी में इतनी भाग दौड़ थी कि उन्हें कभी गार्डेनडिंग का मौका नही मिल पाया लेकिन जब वक़्त मिला तो उन्होंने बिना देर किए गार्डेनडिंग की शुरुआत की और कई जगह से ट्रेनिंग भी लिया। सबसे पहले उन्होंने मात्र 22 गमलों से अपने पौधों की शुरुआत की। समय के साथ गमले और ग्रो बैग्स बढ़ते रहे और अभी की बात की जाए तो प्रतिमा 350 से भी ज्यादा गमलो और ग्रो बैग्स में पौधे ऊगा रही हैं। इसके साथ वह सस्टेनेबिलिटी और होम कंपोस्टिंग पर भी बराबर ध्यान रखती हैं। किचेन के कचड़े से खाद तैयार करती हैं और एरोबिक व एनेरोबिक तरीको को भी अपनाती हैं।


कॉम्पोस्टर्स इन राजाजीनगर
प्रतिमा ने अपनी सोसाइटी में कॉम्पोस्टर्स इन राजाजीनगर नाम से एक ग्रुप बनाया है जिसमे लगभग 130 सदस्य जुड़े हैं और प्रतिमा से कम्पोस्टिंग के बारे में जानकारियां लेते हैं या कहे तो ट्रेनिंग लेते हैं। यहाँ की सबसे अच्छी बात ये है कि जितने भी सदस्य हैं , सभी होम कम्पोस्टिंग करते हैं और आपस मे जरूरत पड़ने पर बांट भी लेते हैं।ज्यादातर सदस्यों ने भी सब्ज़िया उगानी शुरू कर दी और यहाँ रीसाइक्लिंग भी किया जाता है। कभी गमले की जरूरत पड़ती है तो पुराने बाल्टी या डब्बे आदि का भी इस्तेमाल किया जाता है। किचन के गीले कचरे का प्रयोग कर सभी अपने मिट्टी को मजबूती प्रदान करते हैं और उपज भी अच्छी होती है और पौधों को खूब पोषण भी मिलता है।
प्रतिमा देसी बीजो का इस्तेमाल करके पौधे तो उगाती ही हैं साथ ही साथ कुछ विदेशी बीजो को भी लगाती हैं। प्रत्येक मौसम के अनुसार अलग अलग सब्ज़िया भरी रहती हैं और सालो भर इसी प्रकार उपज होता रहता है। प्रतिमा के गार्डन में खीरा, गाजर, गोभी, ब्रोकली, तोरई, शलजम, अदरक ,निम्बू, शकरकंद, खरबूज, बैंगन, पैठा, लौकी , पत्तेदार सब्जियां और फूल भी उगाये जाते हैं। अबतकन उन्हीने 35 किलो कद्दू, 20 किस्म की बिन्स, 10 किस्म के शकरकंद आदि उगाया है। प्रतिमा बताती है कि गार्डेनडिंग उनके मूड को ताजा रखने में मदद करता है। अपने बेटे को भी वो गार्डेनडिंग के प्रति जागरूक कर रही हैं। इस काम मे उनके पति और बेटे का भी योगदान होता है। इस lockdown में इनके परिवार के लोगो को कभी किसी सब्ज़ी के बारे में सोचना नही पड़ा।


प्रतिमा बताती हैं कि lockdown जब शुरू हुआ तो उनके घर मे 8 kg लौकी रखी हुई थी और अभी लगभग 21 kg है। क्योंकि ये बहुत दिनों तक खराब नही होता इसलिए आप इसे रखकर अलग अलग रेसिपी बना कर आनंद ले सकते हैं, और ये स्वास्थ्य के लिए भी अच्छा होता है।
प्रतिमा अपने गार्डन में हल्दी भी उगाती हैं। पिछले वर्ष उन्होंने करीब 4 किलो हल्दी उगाया था और एक किलो के करीब पाउडर भी बनाया इस तरह उन्हें जैविक सब्जियो के साथ साथ जैविक मसाले भी मिल रहे हैं। प्रतिमा कोशिश करने पर विश्वास रखती हैं। जबतक आप कोशिश नही करते तो फल तो दूर की बात है।
प्रतिमा चाहती है कि हर इंसान अपने जरूरत भर की सब्ज़िया खुद उगाये और स्वास्थ्य का ध्यान रखे। इस प्रकार हमने ये पढ़ा कि प्रतिमा सस्टेनेबिलिटी, कम्पोस्टिंग, रीसाइक्लिंग आदि सभी चीज़ों को कैसे वव्यवस्थित ढंग से सम्हालती हैं। हमे इनसे प्रेरणा लेनी चाहिए।
