शुभम गुप्ता (Shubham Gupta) राजस्थान (Rajasthan) से सम्बन्ध रखते हैं। घर की वित्तीय खराब होने के कारण उनके पिता अपना गांव छोड़कर महाराष्ट्र (Maharashtra) आ गए। पिता की मदद के लिए वह भी वहां आ गए और जूते बेचने का कार्य करने लगे। पढ़ाई के लिए वह ट्रेन से जाया करते थे, जिसमें उन्हें थोड़ी दिक्कत भी होती थी।

उनके बड़े भाई आगे की पढ़ाई के लिए बाहर गए थे। जब शुभम की 10वीं की पढ़ाई सम्पन्न हुई तब आगे पढ़ने के लिए वह दिल्ली गए। यहां उन्होंने ग्रेजुएशन किया और एमकॉम भी। शुभम ने अपने जीवनकाल में अपने सपने को पूरा करने के लिए बहुत ही संघर्ष किया है। पढ़ाई के दिनों में वह ज्यादा वक़्त दुकान पर दिया करते थे और जब भी थोड़ा वक़्त मिलता तो पढ़ लेते थे। जिस वजह से उन्होंने ना तो कोई खेल खेला और ना ही उनका कोई मित्र बना पाया।

पिता ने किया यूपीएससी के लिए प्रेरित

शुभम के पिता ने उन्हें यूपीएससी (UPSC) की तैयारी करने के लिए प्रेरित किया और उनका मनोबल बढ़ाया। शुभम अब अपनी यूपीएससी (UPSC) की तैयारी में पूरी तरह जुट गए और एग्जाम भी दिया। उन्होंने साल 2015 में पहली बार यूपीएससी (UPSC) का एग्जाम दिया, लेकिन वह इसमें असफल हुए।

दूसरे प्रयास में हुए सफल, लेकिन सन्तुष्ट नहीं थे

अब उन्होंने फिर से परीक्षा दी, जिसमे उन्हें 366वीं रैंक हासिल हुई। वह अपने इस पोस्ट से खुश नही थे और उसे ठुकराकर तैयारी जारी रखा। अगली बार वर्ष 2017 में फिर एग्जाम दिया, जिसमें वह असफल हुए और निराश भी।

आखिरकार मिली 6वीं रैंक

उन्होंने अपने सपने के लिए फिर से परिश्रम शुरू किया। उन्होंने वर्ष 2018 में चौथी बार एग्जाम दिया और टॉपर रहे। उन्होंने टॉप टेन की सूची में 6वीं रैंक हासिल की और आईएसस (IAS) बनकर अपने सपने को पूरा किया।
