हिमांशु गुप्ता का जीवन बहुत हीं संघर्षशील रहा है। पिता पहले दिहाड़ी मजदूर का काम करते थे, उसके बाद उन्होंने चाय का ठेला लगाना शुरू कर दिया। हिमांशु भी स्कूल के बाद इस काम में अपने पिता की मदद करते थे।
हिमांशु अपने पिता के दुकान पर रहकर उनका हाथ बटाया करते थे और उसी दौरान वे अखबार भी पढ़ा करते थे। अखबार पढ़कर हीं उन्होंने सिविल सर्विसेज में जाने का अपना मन बना लिया और बिना किसी कोचिंग क्लास ज्वाइन किए घर पर ही रहकर इंटरनेट का सहारा लेकर तथा सेल्फ स्टडी कर यूपीएससी की तैयारी की और आईएएस अफसर बन समाज में एक मिसाल पेश किया।
बिना कोचिंग क्लास की तैयारी
हिमांशु गुप्ता (IAS Himanshu Gupta) के IAS बनने में एक खास बात यह है कि उन्होनें बिना किसी कोचिंग क्लास के ही अपना मुकाम हासिल किया है। हिमांशु के कोचिंग न कर पाने के दो कारण थे, पहला कारण यह था कि उनके पास पैसो की कमी थी और दूसरा कारण यह था कि हमेशा सेल्फ स्टडी करने के कारण केवल सेल्फ स्टडी पर ही भरोसा करते थे। उनकी यह सफलता अपने आप में एक मायने रखती है।
लगातार तीनों प्रयास में मिली सफलता
हिमांशु गुप्ता (IAS Himanshu Gupta) ने यूपीएससी के परीक्षा में लगातार तीन बार सफल हुए हैं। सबसे पहले उन्होनें वर्ष 2018 में सफलता हासिल की लेकिन कम रैंक मिलने के कारण उनका चयन भारतीये रेलवे परिवहन प्रबंधन में हुआ। इसके बाद उन्होंने 2019 में दोबारा परीक्षा दी, जिसमे उन्हें 588 वाँ रैंक मिला और उन्हें आईपीएस का पद मिला लेकिन उनका सपना एक आईएएस बनने का था। इसलिए उन्होंने एक बार और वर्ष 2020 में फिर से परीक्षा दी और 139 वीं रैंक हासिल कर अपना आईएएस बनने का सपना साकार किया।
