उम्मुल बचपन से ही विकलांग है, लेकिन वह कभी इससे हार नहीं मानी और यूपीएससी जैसी कठिन परीक्षा (UPSC Exam) पास कर आईएएस अफसर बनीं। उम्मुल बोन फ्रेजाइल डिसऑर्डर से पीड़ित हैं, जिसमें शरीर की हड्डिया कमजोर हो जाती हैं।
अब तक हो चुकी है 16 फ्रैक्चर और 8 सर्जरी
बोन फ्रेजाइल डिसऑर्डर (Bone Fragile Disorder) की वजह से कई बार उनकी हड्डियां टूट चुकी है। अब तक उनकी लाइफ में कुल 16 फ्रैक्चर और 8 सर्जरी हो चुकी है। उम्मुल का जन्म एक गरीब परिवार में हुआ था।
झुग्गी झोपड़ी में रहना पड़ा
उनके परिवार में तीन भाई-बहन और मां-पापा थे। उम्मुल छोटी ही थी के उनके पिता का निर्धन हो गया। उस समय वे निजामुद्दीन इलाके में स्थित झुग्गी झोपड़ी में रहते थे।
नहीं अच्छी थी परिवार की आर्थिक स्थिति
उम्मुल के पिता दिल्ली में फेरी लगाकर कपड़े बेचा करते थे, लेकिन इसमे इतनी कमाई नहीं होती थी कि अच्छी तरह परिवार का गुजारा हो सके। ऐसी स्थिती में जब सरकारी ने झुग्गियों को तोड़ देने का आदेश दिया तो उनकी मुसीबत और बढ़ गई। – Success story of IAS Ummul Kher from Rajasthan
कम उम्र से शुरू की टू्यूशन पढ़ना
निजामुद्दीन की झुग्गियों तोड़े जाने के बाद उम्मुल खेर (Ummul Kher) का परिवार त्रिलोकपुरी की झुग्गियों में शिफ्ट हो गया। यहां से उम्मुल के लिए यूपीएससी की तैयारी करना आसान नहीं था। परिवार की आर्थिक स्थिति को देखते हुए उम्मुल कम उम्र में ही ट्यूशन पढ़ाना शुरू कर दी और उसी पैसे से वह अपने स्कूल की फीस देती थी।
उम्मुल के पढ़ाई का सफर
उम्मुल 10वीं में 91 प्रतिशत और 12वीं में 89 प्रतिशत अंक के साथ सफल हुई। दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी से ग्रेजुएशन करने के बाद उम्मुल ने जेएनयू के इंटरनेशनल स्टडीज स्कूल से एमए किया और यहीं से एमफिल/पीएचडी कोर्स में एडमिशन लिया।
पहले प्रयास में ही बनी आईएएस
पीएचडी के साथ ही उम्मुल यूपीएससी की भी तैयारी शुरू कर दी। कड़ी मेहनत के बदोलत उम्मुल साल 2017 में अपने पहले प्रयास में ही 420वीं रैंक के साथ यूपीएससी की परीक्षा पास कर ली। जिससे उन्हें आईएएस पद मिला। उम्मुल की संघर्ष की कहानी लोगों के लिए एक मिसाल है। – Success story of IAS Ummul Kher from Rajasthan
