हमारे देश में लोग खेती को लेकर अधिक रुचि रखते हैं। वर्तमान में हर किसी की ख्वाहिश है कि वह अपने खाने योग्य सब्जियों एवं फलों को अपने बागवानी में उगाए। हालांकि लोग ऐसा कर भी रहें हैं और इससे उनके स्वयं के स्वास्थ्य पर अच्छा प्रभाव भी हो रहा है।
आज की हमारी यह कहानी खेती से जुड़ी तो है लेकिन थोड़ी अलग जरूर है। क्योंकि इस कहानी में आप एक ऐसे परिवार से रूबरू होंगे जो जमीन के भीतर नहीं बल्कि लताओं में आलू को उगाता है। आईए जानते फिर ये परिवार इस तरह की खेती कैसे करता है..
हमारे देश के सूरत (Surat) में एक परिवार रहता है जो गार्डेनिंग में चर्चा का पात्र बना हुआ है। ये परिवार अपने घर के हर सदस्य के साथ मिलकर गार्डेनिंग करता है और अपनी गार्डेनिंग से सबको आश्चर्यचकित भी कर देता है। ये परिवार सुभाष सुरती का है जो विभिन्न प्रकार की साग-सब्जियों को उगाने के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। इसके साथ ही ये लताओं में आलू उगाने का कार्य करता है।
उगाया है सैकड़ो पौधें
सूरत के इस परिवार ने अपने गार्डनिंग में लगभग 400 से भी अधिक पौधों को उगाया है। ये परिवार काफी अरसे से गार्डेनिंग कर रहा है और आज भी नई तकनीक को अपनाकर कुछ-न-कुछ नया करता रहता है। जानकारी के अनुसार सुभाष सुरती ने आज से लगभग 15 वर्ष पूर्व अपना नया घर लिया था तब उन्होंने विशेष ध्यान गार्डेनिंग पर दिया। गार्डेनिंग के लिए उन्होंने सूरत कृषि विज्ञान केंद्र से कोर्स किया और इससे बेहतर करने के खूब मेहनत की। वैसे तो वह पेशे से इंजीनियर हैं लेकिन उन्होंने गार्डेनिंग में बहुत से नए कारनामे किए है।
फल, फूल एवं सब्जियां उगाते हैं
उन्होंने अपने गार्डन में 6 किस्म के फल एवं सब्जियों को लगया है और फलों के तौर पर अमरूद, फालसा, अनार स्टार फ्रूट एवं केला आदि उगाया है। सब्जियों में उन्होंने करेला, फूल गोभी, पत्तागोभी, मेथी, धनिया, तुरई एवं बैगन उगाया है। इसके अतिरिक्त उन्होंने लगभग 15 किस्म के औषधीय पौधों को उगाया है। फूलों में उन्होंने रात रानी एवं गुलाब को उगाया है।
गार्डेनिंग के शौक का श्रेय पैरेंट्स को देते हैं
वह बताते हैं कि उन्हें अपने गार्डन से 30 फीसदी सब्जियां मिल जाती है जो उनके परिवार के लिए काफी है। अपने गार्डनिंग के शौक का श्रेय वह अपने पैरेंट्स को देते हैं। उनके अंदर ये गार्डेनिंग का शौक उनके पैरेंट्स से ही मिली है और आज ह एक बेहतर गार्डनर बने हुए हैं। आज सिर्फ वो ही नहीं बल्कि उनका पूरा परिवार गार्डनिंग कर रहा है।
छत और आंगन में किया है गार्डेनिंग
वह अपने घर के आंगन के साथ छत पर भी गार्डेनिंग करते हैं। उन्होंने लगभग 1000 स्क्वायर फीट की छत पर गार्डेनिंग की हुई है। उन्होंने अपने आंगन में अमरुद एवं आंवला को लगाया हुआ है। वह कहते हैं कि पौधों को उचित मात्रा में सूर्य का प्रकाश मिले इसलिए मैंने छत पर पौधों को लगया है।
आलू जमीन में नहीं बल्कि लताओं में उगातें हैं
उन्होंने आलू की विशेष प्रजाति को उगाया है जो जमीन नहीं बल्कि लताओं में उगता है। इसे एयर पोटैटो यानी potatoes in vines कहा जाता है। ये दुर्लभ प्रजाति गिर के जंगल से उन्होंने लाया था। इसे उगाने लिए उन्होंने 2 वर्ष तक मेहनत किया और आज इसमें लगभग 25 फीट लम्बी बेल आ चुकी है। वह बताते हैं कि इसमें स्टार्च की मात्रा अधिक मात्रा में होती है।
