हम ऐसे बहुत से लोगो को देखते है जिनके साथ अगर कुछ बुरा हो जाए तो वो हार मान लेते है और अपने स्थिति से समझौता कर लेते है, परन्तु कुछ ऐसे भी दृढ़ निश्चयी लोग होते है जो बहुत कुछ बुरा होने के बाद अपने दम पर बहुत कुछ करते है औऱ सबके सामने मिशाल कायम करते है, आज ऐसे ही शख्श से हम आपको परिचित करवाएंगे।

वरुण सिंह भाटी का परिचय-

वरुण भाटी नोएडा के रहने वाले है बचपन मे ही वो पोलियो के शिकार हो गए थे, उनका एक पैर खराब हो गया था परन्तु उन्होंने हिम्मत नही हारी और जब वो कक्षा छठी में थे तब ही उन्होंने ये तय किया था कि वो स्पोर्ट्स में अपना कैरियर बनाएंगे। उन्होंने बास्केटबॉल को चुना और उसमें जीतोड़ मेहनत भी की और कई मेडल भी हासिल किए अपने काबिलियत के लिए, परन्तु समस्या ये थी कि अच्छा खेलने के बावजुद भी उन्हें हमेशा खेल से बाहर कर दिया जाता था क्योंकि वो दिव्यांग थे इस स्थिति का सामना करना उनके लिए बेहद कठिन था।

बास्केटबॉल के बाद हाईजम्प में बनाया अपना करियर-

जब वरुण ने देखा कि बास्केटबॉल में उनका कुछ नही हो सकता तब उन्होंने हाईजम्प में अपनी किस्मत आजमाई और इसमें वो सफल भी हुए, साल 2012 में वरुण ने 1.60 मीटर के साथ लंदन Paralympics के लिए “A” क्वालिफिकेशन मार्क हासिल किया, उसके बाद उन्होंने कई मेडल जीते।

साल 2013 वरुण के लिए बहुत ही सफल रहा क्योंकि साल 2013 में आयोजित चीन ओपन गेम्स और श्रीलंका आर्मी गेम्स में वरुण ने गोल्ड मेडल जीते, उसके बाद एसियन गेम्स 2014 में उन्होंने सबको अपनी कला से प्रभावित किया, वैसे तो इस प्रतियोगिता में वो चौथे नम्बर पर रहे परन्तु उनका प्रदर्शन काबिलेतारीफ था। इन सबके साथ ही साल 2005 में वर्ल्ड पैरा चैंपियनशिप दोहा में भी उनका प्रदर्शन बहुत अच्छा था। इसके साथ ही साल 2016 में दुबई में IPC गेम्स में स्वर्ण पदक जीतकर उन्होंने पूरे देश का नाम रौशन किया।

अर्जुन पुरस्कार से हुए सम्मानित-

साल 2016 में रियो ओलिंपिक में उन्होंने 1.86 मीटर की जम्प लगाई उससे सब लोग हैरान थे, इस टूर्नामेंट में उन्होंने ब्रॉन्ज मेडल जीतकर पूरे देश का नाम रौशन किया। इसके साथ ही साल 2017 में लंदन में हुए वर्ल्ड पैरा एथेलिटिक्स चैंपियनशिप में भी उनका प्रदर्शन काफी अच्छा रहा, 1.77 मीटर की जम्प लगाकर उन्होंने ब्रॉन्ज मेडल जीता था, उनके बेहतरीन खेल के लिए उन्हें अर्जुन अवार्ड से भी सम्मानित किया जा चुका है।
