गुजरात के मधापार इस गांव के अधिकतर लोग एन आर आई (NRI) है। उन्होंने शुरू से हीं देश के बाहर रहकर काम किया और पैसे कमा कर गांव की तरक्की में अपना योगदान देते हैं। इसके बाद गांव में विद्यालय, कॉलेज, स्वास्थ्य केंद्र, मंदिर, बांध और झील आदि का निर्माण भी करवाया।

आपको बता दें कि वर्ष 1968 में लंदन में ‘मधापार विलेज एसोसिएशन’ (Madhapar Village Association) नाम का एक संगठन की स्थापना भी हुई थी। इस संगठन का उद्देश्य विदेशों में गांव की स्वरूप को बेहतर बनाए रखना अथवा लोगों को आपस में जोड़े रखना था।

मधापार गांव में अधिकतर आबादी पटेल की है, जिसमें से 65% से अधिक NRI है। वे अपने देश के बाहर रहकर काम धंधा करते हैं अथवा अपने परिवार के लिए पैसा भी भेजते हैं। इनमें से कई NRI पैसा कमाने के बाद अपने देश वापस लौट आते हैं और अपना Venture शुरू कर देते हैं। इसकी खास बात यह है कि इस गांव में अभी भी कृषि को मुख्य व्यवसाय के रूप में माना जाता है और इससे होने वाली उपज को मुंबई समेत कई अन्य हिस्सों में भी भेजा जाता है।
